The Moses Legacy: Exodus

In this sermon series, we will be looking at six key events in the life of Moses. Moses is one of the central characters in scripture to whom Jesus is regularly compared. By looking closely at how God interacted with Moses, we can get a better sense of how God interacts with us and how the New Testament writers responded to God's work through Moses.

GROWTH GROUP / PERSONAL REFLECTION QUESTIONS

1. Do you tend to reflect on past events? What is a moment in your life that you would remember as a "Golden days" moment?

2. Pastor Jon mentioned some references to the crossing of the Red Sea in the Bible. What other references to this event, whether in the Bible or not, can you think of?

3. Have you ever tried to recreate the past? If so, in what ways? How did this work out for you?

4. How can past events help shape our expectations of what God can do in the future?

5. What is something you need deliverance from now? Is there a way in which God delivered you, or someone close to you, in the past that can give you hope that God will deliver you now?
NEXT STEPS

1. Sit down by yourself and reflect on a time in life where things just seemed to work correctly for you. Or, call up someone from that time in life and reminisce.

2. Think of something you need to deliverance from now. Ask God to strengthen your hope, using the memory from step 1 to shape your expectations and hopes.

3. Pray to God for deliverance.

For the month of September, StoneBridge’s Global Missions Team is hosting Monday Mission Madness, (MMM). Not only will the funds raised benefit our international partners, MMM also bolsters Simi Valley’s local restaurants who have also been detrimentally affected by the pandemic as well. So give yourself a break on Monday nights in September. Eat-in or order take-out. Either way, it’s a win, win, win!

We encourage you to use Facebook, Instagram, and other social media to share images, quotes, links, or what you've learned from this week's message and YouVersion message notes. Social media can also be a great way of inviting your friends to worship and special events.
