So we see that we are in a war and that we do have weapons. Our weapons are not of the flesh, guns and ammo, because our battle is not in the physical realm but in the spiritual realm. But we do have weapons that are effective in the spirit realm. With these weapons we wage a good spiritual warfare. We have been given divine power to destroy strongholds!

We have divine power to destroy strongholds.

The strongholds of the enemy cannot stand up against the body of Christ. We have been given authority that is greater than them. And the one who is in us is great than anything in this world! Remember, authority means we have the right to give orders. We have the right to declare things in the spiritual realm and enforce that every enemy obey Christ.

It is needful to point out that we are not doing our own will in Kingdom endeavors, but we are seeking to do the will of the Father. Just as Jesus stated that He must be about His father’s business, so must we be about our heavenly Father’s business.

Jesus said this concerning his use of authority:

Even Jesus did not speak of his own authority but of the Father in heaven. He spoke on heavens authority. He listen to the Father and acted on the authority that He had been given.

We can learn to hear and obey the Father’s voice.

If you don’t understand your authority then you cannot use it properly. If you are not aware of your rights you cannot stand up for them. If you don’t understand your power you cannot fully use it. This is why it is so important that we learn to use the authority invested in us to extend God’s Kingdom and to reveal His glory! I believe if we don’t use our authority, it will be used against us.

I don’t believe there is a 1, 2, 3 step process to learning to use your spiritual authority but I do believe there are things we can cover to help us.

First, you must believe what the Word says.
If you don’t believe you have authority according to what scripture says, then how could you ever begin to walk in it?

You must deal with any religious thinking that dilutes the truth.
Many of us have wrong thinking concerning spiritual authority. That must be dealt with.

Seek to grow in your relationship with Father God and learn to hear His voice.
I believe understanding of our authority is a natural by product of our intimate relationship with God. As we truly grow in knowing Him, we know who we are.

Begin to use your authority in situations.
You must use it if you want to grow in it. You have to start somewhere. Get over the fear, deal with the lies, begin to pray for others and begin to declare things!

Learning to use your spiritual authority is all about growing up spiritually.

Remember that authority is the power or right to give orders, make decisions, and enforce obedience. If what area of your life to you need to make some decisions based on the wisdom of heaven? Or where do you need to give some spiritual orders? Or where has the enemy been trying to do something in your life or your family and you need to enforce his obedience to Christ?
