The Promise of The Presence That Makes All the DifferenceExodus 4:1-17

https://www.everyday.family/sermon-notes/
It is safe to go where I am sending you.
Moses took his entire family with him to obey the Lord – He did not go alone, leaving family behind He took the staff – it was the tool God told him to use
Moses is reminded to do everything God tells him to do and God would harden Pharaoh’s heart Give Pharaoh this message:
Israel is my first born, let him go but you refused to let him go, so, I will kill your son, your firstborn
God commanded and comforted
Moses gathered His family and obeyed the Lord God knew how it would all work out
a. Exodus 4:13 – Send your hand that you were sending – (Get it over with)
b. All things work together for good – not SOME things
- God doesn’t work somethings out and let other things slip through the cracks. Everything that
occurs in our life, fits into His plan. DO YOU TRUST GOD WITH THE PLAN
Look at verse 23 - Israel is my Son, My firstborn
Did this remind God that Moses’ had refused to do what God commanded as well? Look what happens next:
IV. Full obedience to the Lord is what God expects
a. Moses knew he should circumcise his son
b. His wife, seemingly, was against it
c. God was frustrated with Moses enough to kill him
(Gen. 17:7-14)
“But an uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that person
shall be cut off from his people; he has broken My covenant.”
d. Moses’ wife finally obeyed the Lord (her heart was not too hardened).
V. Invitation
• Are you Serving God but not Obeying God?
• Do you pick and choose the things you will obey Him in?
a. Ask the Lord to soften your heart and give you the ability to repent today.
b. Make a decision to trust God with the details of your life.
c. Obey the Lord in whatever he says. Don’t go half in!
d. Every decision you make to reject His Word causes your heart to be hardened
e. Decide today to obey Him in those areas you have been holding back
