Church on a Mission - Week 1
Celebrate with Jesus and continue our Mission

Last week we wrapped up our #MyChristianLife Romans 12 series and learned: With Jesus’ help we can overcome evil with good!

When have you ever felt like you were living your best life?

I believe that lately it feels as if we can’t win. I mean with COVID, racial tension, government restrictions, and honestly, the deep distain that people seem to be having for others around them, it has been a challenging time.
---But I believe that Jesus gives us victory.

1 Cor. 15:54-57: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The truth is that if you call yourself a Christian today and you truly believe in Christ our Lord, then you know His victory over death. I believe that we need to start living as if we are already in victory then walking around gloomy or downhearted.

Jack Heaston my mentor always says to me: What we often want is this feeling of good, we want to feel good about life, we want to have good happen to us, however that keeps us in this cycle of looking for making us feel good, instead what He said was we have to do good.
---If you create a cycle of doing good rather than feeling good, one will feed the other.

Galatians 6:9-10: And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
---Begin today to create a cycle of doing good!

This is our one year and we need to celebrate some good we have done:
--We launched a Church in the middle of COVID
--We have averaged over 100 people
--We have diligently served widows and people in distress
--We sent 17 students to camp
--We have new leaders that went through overseer training
--We began a new ministry called Together as One
--We have had people become more like family than friends
--We have had 22 baptisms
--We have had over 50 people serve with and in in our church
--We have 4 life groups with more to begin in the next 2 weeks
--We have over 7 people who are discipling others
--Our community loves Impact
That’s what we are celebrating in one year!!!!

However, we won’t stop!

Which brings us to what we are beginning today: Church on Mission

Philippians 1:1-2: Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus, To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are at Philippi, with the overseers and deacons: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Philippians 1: 3-4: I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy,
---A Church on Mission: Prays with and for each other---

Philippians 1:5-6: Because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now and I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
---A Church on Mission: Shares the gospel---

Philippians 1:7-8: It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel. For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus.
---A Church on Mission: Loves the people of their church---

Philippians 1:9-11 And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
