Chiming of the Hour and Prelude

Welcome to Worship: Rev. Eric Porterfield
Call to Worship
Rev. Alicia Porterfield
Rev. DaVontaé Edwards

Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, Your faithfulness to the clouds.
How precious is Your steadfast love, O God! All may take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.
We feast on the abundance of Your house, and You give us drink from the river of Your delights.
How precious is Your steadfast love, O God! All may take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.
For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light.
How precious is your steadfast love, O God! All may take refuge in the shadow of Your wings. Amen.~from Psalm 34:5-10

Invocation and Lord’s Prayer: Kasey Murphy

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily
bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
Hymn of Praise:
“Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing"

Come, thou Fount of every blessing, tune my heart to sing thy grace; streams of mercy, never ceasing, call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me some melodious sonnet, sung by flaming tongues above. Praise the mount! I'm fixed upon it, mount of thy redeeming love.

Here I raise mine Ebenezer; hither by thy help I'm come; and I hope, by thy good pleasure, safely to arrive at home. Jesus sought me when a stranger,
wandering from the fold of God; he, to rescue me from danger, interposed his precious blood.

O to grace how great a debtor daily I'm constrained to be! Let Thy grace, Lord, like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to Thee: Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to leave the God I love; here's my heart, Lord, take and seal it; seal it for Thy courts above.

Song of Response: “Indescribable”
Alexandra Biddle

From the highest of heights to the depths of the sea,
Creation’s revealing Your majesty, from the colors of fall to the fragrance of spring, every creature unique in the song that it sings, all exclaiming,

Indescribable, uncontainable! You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name. You are amazing, God. All powerful, untamable, awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim, You are amazing, God.

Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go, Or seen heavenly storehouses laden with snow,
Who imagined the sun and gives source to its light,
Yet conceals it to bring us the coolness of night
None can fathom. refrain (Laura Story/Jesse Reeves)

Choral Response
“Lord, When You Came as Welcome Guest”
FAB Choral Ensemble

Lord, when You came as welcome guest to Cana’s wedding feast, the bridal pair, divinely blest, found all their joy increased.

On all who thus before You kneel Your joyous spirit pour that each may wake the other’s zeal to love You more and more.

O grant them here in peace to live, in purity and love, and afterthis life to receive the crown of life above.
Sermon: “Signs of Abundance”
Rev. Eric S. Porterfield
*Hymn of Response
“Grace Greater than Our Sin”

Marvelous grace of our Loving Lord, grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt; Yonder on Calvary's mount outpoured, there where the blood of the Lamb was spilt.

Grace, grace, God's grace; Grace that will pardon and cleanse within. Grace, grace, God's grace, Grace that is greater than all our sin.

Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace, Freely bestowed on all who believe. All who are longing to see His face, will you this moment His grace receive?

Benediction: Rev. Eric S. Porterfield

Postlude: Jon Brannon

Who We Are

"The church on the corner with the big columns" is who some say we are. While blessed with a building, the life of our church expands beyond these six columns.
We are a family of faith striving to love God and love others, acknowledging the greatest commandments as defined by our Lord. These are the foundation for our existence; and everything we do, whether inside or outside these columns, must reflect love of our God and love for others.
The four inner columns represent the four primary areas of the life of our church: Inreach, Outreach, Spiritual Growth, and Missions. To learn more, visit our site.
