Joy of Adversity

Believers can face adversity in the joy of knowing the gospel is spread.
Philippians 1:12-26

Christians in some areas of our world face constant pressure. Intimidation, mob beatings, and government censure are just a few of the difficulties faced. These difficulties seem to encourage and not discourage believers, nor do they keep the gospel from spreading. These believers seem to have a greater focus, just like the focus of an athlete trying to improve or train for a sport. But unlike many athletes, these believers find joy and peace in the middle of the challenges faced.

What are some motivations that might lead a Christian to be a faithful, even joyous, witness in unfavorable circumstances?

SBTC Disaster Relief Training Phase 1

Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary – Fort Worth

SBTC (Southern Baptists of Texas Convention) Disaster Relief Training Phase 1 is for individuals who desire to be the hands and feet of Christ after a disaster strikes.

SBTC Disaster Relief meets real needs and shares the good news of hope through Jesus Christ with those impacted by disasters. Trainings offered at this event will give you an orientation into Disaster Relief Ministry and help you to safely work in disasters such as floods, fires, and tornadoes.

If no one is pre-registered for a particular ministry area training module, it will not be offered.

Mom to Mom is a safe place for Christian, non-Christian, married, and single moms. Our mission is to educate, encourage, and equip women for two of the most important jobs in the world — being a wife and being a parent. We use practical, biblically-based teaching and supportive interaction in small groups, led by experienced moms. We wish to foster growth as a wife, parent, and woman.
A registration fee of $30 is due at the first class.
