Introduction
1. How can we know that we have eternal life?
2. I John 5:12 “I have written these things that ye may know that you have eternal life”

I John gives us evidences that we have eternal life:
1. Have you enjoyed fellowship with Christ and His redeemed
people? (1:3)

2. Are you very sensitive to your sin? (1:8-10)

3. Are you obedient to God’s Word? (2:3-5)

4. Does something deep within you tend to hate the world’s system
and its evil? (2:15)

5. Do you eagerly await the coming of Jesus Christ? (3:2,3)

6. Do you see a decreasing pattern of sin in your life? (3:5,6)

7. Do you sacrificially love other Christians? (3:14-17)

8. Do you experience answered prayer? (3:22)

9. Do you experience the inner working of the Holy Spirit? (3:24b;
4:13)

10. Do you discern between spiritual truth and error? (4:1-6)

11. Do you have a love for God’s people? (4:7-10)

12. Do you believe what the Bible teaches? (4:5,6; 5:1a)

13. Do you experience victory over the world? (5:14)
