Do we really understand Jesus?

God cultivates spiritual growth in those who remain in Jesus (vv. 1-3)
John 15:1-3 CSB
God does two things here:
1. He removes branches that do not bear fruit
2. He prunes branches that do bear fruit
God’s hand is never closer to us than when He is pruning us.

We receive abundant life and joy eternal when we remain in Jesus (vv. 4-5)
John 15:4-5 CSB
To remain in Jesus means to:
Surrender your life to Jesus, invite Him into your heart, and continually live life connected to Him.
Galatians 5:22-23 CSB
I can't but You can through me.
We cannot produce godly character (spiritual fruit) apart from Him.
To be who God intended us to be, close to Him, we must remain in Jesus. He is the source.
Enjoying Jesus Glorifies Him.
Jesus said remain in me and I will remain in you.
There is no other promise for abundant life in this world and eternal life in the world to come.
