Read Luke 9:28-36
1. Have you ever thought what it would have been like to be one of Jesus disciples? Do you think experiencing moments like the transfiguration would increase your faith? Even after this moment Peter denies Christ and had seasons of doubt, can you relate?
2. Do you think the purpose of Moses and Elijah’s visit was to encourage Jesus or the disciples? Moses never got to step foot into the Promised Land until this moment, does that hold any significance?
3. Share an important mountain top experience in your life. Have you ever been tempted to idolize that moment or reproduce it? Have you met someone who is reliving the success of their past? What advice would you give them to help move forward?
4. God speaks audibly and tells the disciples to listen to Jesus. What part does listening play in your daily prayer life? Have you made listening to God a priority? Peter says we have the more sure words of the Bible to hold on to now. Take some time to read Jesus words out loud, as a suggestion you could start with the Sermon on the Mount. Matthew 5,6, and 7. Luke 9:18-27
