Jesus is the ultimate game-changer. His life, death, and resurrection changed the game of faith, eternity, and mankind’s relationship with God.
Jesus brought an end to the Old Covenant and ushered in a brand-new covenant. He literally changed the way we come to God.
Under the Old Covenant, only the high priest once a year, with great fear, could enter into the presence of God. Through Jesus, we have 24/7 access to the Father; freely, and boldly coming into His presence without fear.
Under the Old Covenant, worship/prayer was limited to one place and was defined by a rigorous ritual. Through Jesus, we can worship/pray to God in spirit and truth anywhere without restriction.
Under the Old Covenant, you were required to offer sacrifices continually to cover your sins. Through Jesus, His sacrifice not only covers our sins, but forgives our sins and removes them for eternity.
Under the Old Covenant, in order to purify the people of sin, God would punish sinners. The punishment for sin is death. In the New Covenant, God punished Jesus for our sin so he could sanctify sinners and purify the hearts of those who believe in Jesus. This brought us into right standing with God.
