What are God’s Principles of Biblical Alignment in a Marriage?
1. ONE man is the head of ONE woman
2. Paul did not say that ALL men are the head of ALL women
Jesus was not only under His Father’s prescribed authority, but He DELIGHTED in His calling by carrying out the Father’s plan.
The work of redemption or recovering our relationship with God was only accomplished because Jesus was perfectly OBEDIENT to the Father.
There are men who complain about their wives not submitting to THEM, but they’re guilty of not submitting themselves to JESUS.
The Greek word for SUBMISSION, Hupotasso means to place oneself under the authority of another. This does not involve coercion, but rather a willingness to take who and what God made you to be and SUBMIT to a rightful authority.
3. Men and woman are of equal VALUE to God. Alignment simply defines FUNCTION
A man does not have ABSOLUTE authority over his wife. His authority remains valid only as long as he’s not violating a PRINCIPLE from God’s Word.
Marriage is a COVENANT designed to strengthen the capability of each partner to carry out the PLAN of God in their lives.
4. The original language in the Bible talks about Eve literally COMPLETING Adam because he was incomplete without her
When we look at the Bible’s true meaning, we realize that Eve’s role was not one of subservience, maid service or slavery, but one of strong help COMPARABLE to that of God the Father Himself.
The precise terminology that God chose to describe His purpose for women is IDENTICAL to that which He used to refer to Himself as the first Person in the Godhead.
Where is a Christian wife, particularly a young woman who is new in her marriage going to find HOLY women to spend time with? The Bible says she ought to find them in the CHURCH.
These older women are not only those farther along in AGE, but women who are more importantly spiritually MATURE and able to offer a Godly example.
Satan loved REVERSING God’s alignment when he convinced Eve to assume the role of headship and Adam did not step up to the plate and SUBDUE the situation, Genesis 3:1-6.
A Godly wife discovers that she HONORS God by respecting and submitting to her husband. Then she stops struggling to fill a POSITION she was never designed to fill.
In the natural, SURRENDER does not make sense. But when we begin to see through our eyes of faith, life becomes more clear.
Wives when you surrender, God can DEAL with your husband.
In 1 Samuel 25 we see that because Abigail stayed in ALIGNMENT, she went from being the wife of a FOOL to the wife of a KING when David married her.
For most of us, SURRENDER and FREEDOM do not go together. But in the Kingdom of our great God, they do.
