“The absolute irrevocability of her donation is stressed in the shattering of the alabaster jar, a detail only Mark notes among the four evangelists and again, the immensity of the woman’s sacrifice and devotion is underscored: this is a gift that is profuse (the entire jar), pure (of high quality nard), and precious (worth a year’s income).”

He gives great victories to his king; he shows loyalty to his מָשִׁיח (anointed), to David and his descendants forever.
