THE WELCOME

THE OPENING SONG
When The Stars Burn Down (Blessing and Honor)
When the stars burn down and the earth wears out
And we stand before the throne
With the witnesses who have gone before
We will rise and all applaud

Singing blessing and honor and glory and power
Forever to our God
Singing blessing and honor and glory and power
Forever to our God

When the hands of time wind fully down
And the earth is rolled up like a scroll
The trumpets will call and the world will fall
To its knees as we all go home

Singing blessing and honor and glory and power
Forever to our God
Singing blessing and honor and glory and power
Forever to our God
Singing blessing and honor and glory and power
Forever to our God
Singing blessing and honor and glory and power
Forever to our God

Star of the morning Light of salvation
Majesty
God of all mysteries Lord of the universe
Righteous King
Star of the morning Light of salvation
Majesty
God of all mysteries Lord of the universe
Righteous King
There will come a day standing face to face
In a moment we will be like Him
He will wipe our eyes dry take us up to His side
And forever we will be His

Singing blessing and honor and glory and power
Forever to our God
Singing blessing and honor and glory and power
Forever to our God
Singing blessing and honor and glory and power
Forever to our God
Singing blessing and honor and glory and power
Forever, ever to our God

THE INVOCATION & CALL TO WORSHIP (from Hebrews 1)
P: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen.
P: “Long ago, at many times and in many ways,
C: God spoke to our fathers by the prophets,
P: But in these last days,
C: He has spoken to us by his son,
P: whom he appointed the heir of all things,
C: through whom he created the world.
P: He is the radiance of the glory of God
C: and the exact imprint of his nature.
P: and he upholds the universe
C: with his power.”
THE CONFESSION & ABSOLUTION
P: People of God, throughout time and space, have encountered the same problems and situations: broken by sin, alienated from the Father, and centered on ourselves. God has sent His prophets and His word to call the world to repentance. By faith, we are the ones who respond now:

C: Heavenly Father, You sent your prophets to draw attention to our brokenness. You sent Your Son Jesus Christ to heal us. Yet we complain about the hardness of His teachings. We prefer our brokenness to His wholeness. We fear the change promised in ‘new life.’ By the gift of the Holy Spirit, helps us to hear Your message, trust Your plan, and live Your bold mission.

P: Jesus has come not to abolish, but to fulfill all Scripture, and He has done all things necessary for our salvation. In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven and redeemed.

C: Amen
THE PRAYER OF THE DAY
P:Blessed Lord, You are good and gracious. You are slow to anger and abounding in love. We thank You for the forgiveness that You pour out upon us. As You forgive our sins, so create in our hearts such gratitude that we would live our redeemed lives to Your glory
C: Amen.
THE OLD TESTAMENT READING………..………………Zechariah 1:1-6
1 In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came to the prophet Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, son of Iddo, saying, 2 “The Lord was very angry with your fathers. 3 Therefore say to them, Thus declares the Lord of hosts: Return to me, says the Lord of hosts, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts. 4 Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets cried out, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, Return from your evil ways and from your evil deeds.’ But they did not hear or pay attention to me, declares the Lord. 5 Your fathers, where are they? And the prophets, do they live forever? 6 But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not overtake your fathers? So they repented and said, ‘As the Lord of hosts purposed to deal with us for our ways and deeds, so has he dealt with us.’”
P: This is the Word of the Lord
C: Thanks be to God.

THE EPISTLE READING…………………………………....Romans 5:6-11
6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. 11 More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
P: This is the Word of the Lord
C: Thanks be to God.
P: This is the Gospel of the Lord.
C: Praise be to You, O Christ
SERMON SONG
I Have This Hope
As I walk this great unknown
Questions come and questions go
Was there purpose for the pain?
Did I cry these tears in vain?

I don't want to live in fear
I want to trust that You are near
Trust Your grace can be seen
In both triumph and tragedy

I have this hope
In the depth of my soul
In the flood or the fire
You're with me and You won't let go

But sometimes my faith feels thin
Like the night will never end
Will You catch every tear
Or will You just leave me here?

But I have this hope
In the depth of my soul
In the flood or the fire
You're with me and You won't let go
Yes, I have this hope
In the depth of my soul
In the flood or the fire
You're with me and You won't let go

So, whatever happens I will not be afraid
Cause You are closer than this breath that I take
You calm the storm when I hear You call my name
I still believe that one day I'll see Your face

I have this hope
In the depth of my soul
In the flood or the fire
You're with me
I have this hope
In the depth of my soul
In the flood or the fire
You're with me and You won't let go

In the flood or the fire
You're with me and You won't let go
In the flood or the fire
You're with me and You won't let go

THE MESSAGE

THE OFFERING

THE PRAYERS
P: Gracious Lord, we bow our heads and bring our lives to You.
C: Lord, hear our prayers.

P: We can never sufficiently thank You, gracious Lord, for all the love You shower on us. In love, You created us, body and soul. In love You took our place on the cross to die for our sins. In love You claimed us through the power of Your Word and Sacraments.
C: Hear our prayer of thanks and praise.

P: Grant to us Your wisdom and strength that we may refuse to embrace the things of the world, which are here today and tomorrow are gone.
C: Bless us with hearts that resist temptation.

P: As we face the changes and the challenges of this world, guide us, gracious Lord. Lead us, step by step, that we may walk through this life serving You.
C: Lead us, O Lord, that we may live according to Your will.

P: The joy of life is found in living through You. Blessed Lord, take our hand and lead us along life’s way, protect, direct, and guide us that our lives would follow Your pattern of care and service for others.
C: Our joy is found in living like You, Lord Jesus.

P: With great anticipation we live each day, O Lord, awaiting that Great Day You will call us from this life to life eternal, which You have prepared for us.
C: Come, Lord Jesus, come quickly.

P: Lord, in Your mercy,
C: hear our prayers.

P: Lord, in Your mercy hear us as we pray
C: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

THE BENEDICTION: (Zechariah 8:13)
P: “O house of Judah and house of Israel, so will I save you, and you shall be a blessing. Fear not, but let your hands be strong.”
C: Amen.
THE CLOSING SONG
WHAT A FRIEND
Everybody has trials and temptations
Everybody knows heartbreak isolation
But we can lay our burdens down
Lay our burdens down

What a friend we have in Jesus
East to west my sins are gone
I see grace on every horizon
And forever and ever His heart is my home

Everybody has fears everybody got worries
Everybody knows sorrow devastation
But we can lay our burdens down
Lay our burdens down

What a friend we have in Jesus
East to west my sins are gone
I see grace on every horizon
And forever and ever His heart is my home

No more betrayal for He is faithful
He fills me up and my cup runneth over
No more betrayal for He is faithful
How He has proven it over and over
No more betrayal for He is faithful
He fills me up and my cup runneth over
No more betrayal for He is faithful
How He has proven it over and over
Over and over

What a friend we have in Jesus
East to west my sins are gone
I see grace on every horizon
And forever and ever His heart is my home
What a friend we have in Jesus
East to west my sins are gone
I see grace on every horizon
And forever and ever His heart is my home
Forever and ever His heart is my home
