Revelation 3:1-6 ESV
Dear church: Jesus always desires us to be authentic
Two weeks ago: Rev 2:12-17, Following Jesus is the only way to live.
This week Rev 3:1-6
1-2: The church cannot be "fake it till you make it".
---Matthew 23:27-28“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people's bones and all uncleanness. So you also outwardly appear righteous to others, but within you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
3: How do we get rid of hypocrisy?
---1. Clearly identify how you have been a hypocrite
---2. Stop doing the action you hate
---3. Confess when it is pointed out
---4. Confess before it is pointed out
---5. If not Jesus will bring it out.

---Do we care more about image than we do about Jesus?
4-6: We the church have to be authentic and we must never be a church of outward appearances.
