1. Discuss this idea: "Because of the unique value of American citizenship, it is uniquely difficult for American citizens to live as heavenly ones". What do you think about this? Do you agree or disagree? Why?
2. We discussed three of the most prevalent idols that control the world: money, sex, and power. How do you see these at play in the world and in your life?
3. Part of the passage that wasn't included in the sermon is verse 17: "Brothers and sisters, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us." What do you think about Paul telling others to "imitate" him in the faith? Would you feel comfortable telling other people to imitate you as you follow Jesus?
