Praying Upward
1. Prayer of Thanksgiving (Psalm 96:1-6)
God is still God and is worthy of ALL your praise in your circumstances.
We declare it OUT LOUD, in conversation, with all peoples among all nations.
Prayer should lead us to obedience.
How GREAT is your God?
2. Prayer of Adoration
In adoration, we do not enter His courts of praise bearing requests; we simply cherish Him.
(Hebrews 12:28-29)
Acceptable worship is humbling ourselves before God, surrendering every part of our lives to His control.
Through our Savior’s sacrifice and the help of the Holy Spirit, we can boldly enter the throne of grace with acceptable worship and rightly directed adoration.
