1 John 5:14, This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.

Prayer is our radical, faith-embrace of the presence and the power and the love and grace of a God who is ready to act on our behalf.

We think of prayer as an event, but God desires it to be a lifestyle for us.
2 Thessalonians 5:17 (NASB), Pray without ceasing.

James 4:2b, You do not have because you do not ask God.

The only thing that stands between us and blessing of God is our willingness to ask!
Pain is always an invitation to pray.

The absence of pain is always an invitation to praise.

v. 14a, Are any of you sick?
“sick" = to be weary.

V. 14b,You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord.
You need a church family whose faith can carry you when you can’t carry yourself.

“anointing you with oil”

As part of our church family, you can be a recipient and a provider.
V. 15, Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well.

God removes your weariness while you wait upon Him for the solution.

V. 15b, And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven.

Through ministry the sick person is willing to accept God’s forgiveness and their own.
V. 16,Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.

As we mutually remove our masks, we experience great freedom and spiritual healing.

We all serve as visible, tangible expressions of God’s love and care for one another.

V. 16b,The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results...

You don’t have to be perfect to effectively pray.
V. 17, Elijah was as human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for three and a half years!

V. 18, Then, when he prayed again, the sky sent down rain and the earth began to yield its crops.

1 Kings 18: 42b, Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees.
