C. A way of life to embrace = “walk in love”
D. An example to follow = “as Christ also loved us”
1. Driven by compassion to meet physical needs – (Matthew 14:14; 15:32)

2. Spoke the truth in love (Mark 6:34)

3. Forgave even the most egregious acts (Luke 23:34)

4. Gave Himself completely in love (John 3:16)

II. Jesus: Our Teacher
A. Love is most important

B. Love is our hallmark.

C. Love is action rooted in mercy

- Willingness to do what others won’t
- Willingness to allow the needs of others to touch you deeply
- Willingness to meet the needs of others even if its messy
- Willingness to invest personal resources
- Willingness to be involved with a process, no matter how long it may be

D. Love is sacrificial

E. Love is unconditional – ( Matthew 5:43-48)
