The Way Empowered To Serve - Early in the book of acts the leadership was just at a few people leading and it was limited…because they were under empowered.

The apostles could’t do it all. They had to begin to empower this growing number of believers to care for each other and do the full rounded work of the ministry or people would suffer.

The result was God’s message continued to spread and believers greatly increased

1. A church that doesn’t empower will not grow

The church’s job is to empower people within the body to build the body

• People need to see a picture of a healthy body, working together, serving each other, growing and building itself up in love. - It’s a picture of health!-

2. People that don’t serve will not grow

An unfortunate result of our current culture (information culture), even church culture, is that we can inadvertently create consumers.

• A consumer will grow fat. A contributor will grow strong

Christianity was never meant to be a spectator sport. There are things you only learn in the game, skills are sharpened in the game. You’re a part of a team, a body, that needs you!

The body will overcompensate when one of its members isn’t working properly. For there to be full function of the body, all members must be contributing to the movement of the body.

As we grow God’s Kingdom, He grows us!

Character is formed in you. Humility is practiced. You begin to realize life isn’t about you.
• A marker of maturity is when life isn’t about you anymore.

3. You discover your purpose in serving others

The most successful companies and the most successful products are always centered around serving the needs of a customer. They are designed and created to serve others.

• You were designed and created to serve others

• The goal of our lives is to bring glory to God by serving others with everything that we have

• A purpose that isn’t tied to serving others will be tied to serving self.

• Jesus said his purpose was to serve. Not to be served.

When you discover your purpose is about others, you begin to contribute to what Jesus is building. - He’s building His church. His Kingdom.

• You are most fulfilling when using your gifts to build God’s Kingdom
