What is LoveKey Church All About?
Our name comes from the fact that we believe that the KEY to salvation (giving your life to Jesus, becoming a reborn Christian) is the revelation of how much God LOVES you. And the KEY to living the life He has for us is to LOVE him back. That’s why LoveKey Church is a local expression of a part of the body of Christ with a focus on creating a place, opportunity and atmosphere where all people can encounter God, align with His purposes in order to reign in life, and help others to do the same.
ENCOUNTER, ALIGN REIGN, HELP OTHERS DO THE SAME - easy way to remember it.
We believe the Bible is the word of God and we commit to be obedient to it with the leading of the Holy Spirit
We believe that marriage and family is God’s idea and His way of doing it is the right way and the best way. We want to see marriages thrive and families be healthy in Jesus. Because healthy families build a healthy nation - notice I didn’t say “perfect” families, I said healthy - whole in Jesus, reconciled in Jesus, redeemed by Jesus, focused on Jesus.
We stand for unity in the body of Christ - we can be diverse but not divided, and celebrate our different gifts and roles in the greater body of Christ. We really resonate with Jesus’ prayer in John 17 where he asks that the Father will make us all one as He and the Father are one so that the world will know that He sent Him. Our biggest evangelical tool is unity!
We want to help eradicate fatherlessness and shine a light on the crisis of cultural Christianity - South Africa has a physical fatherlessness rate of 62% and other forms of fatherlessness in the remaining percentage - it truly is a huge problem.
Cultural Christianity is where people grow up in a so-called Christian home or culture and believe that that makes them a Christian, when in fact it is very possible that the culture they’re in has adopted a version of God that is convenient, made it apart of their culture and they’re actually worshipping their culture.
We want this to be a multi-generational, multi-cultural church that lives to know Jesus and to make Him known.

Let’s talk about Immortality
Vampires, zombies, Highlander movie - the world is fascinated with fantasies about the idea of “forever” - why is that? And always blood is somehow part of it - vampires live on blood, zombies get some kind of virus in their blood, Highlanders are just born that way - it’s in their blood from birth - and in all these fantasy cases they gain immortality. And the stories always show the good, bad, and ugly of being immortal.
There’s also the whole chasing of the so-called “fountain of youth”. If I can only look young forever - the whole anti-aging business is a multi-billion dollar industry worldwide - what’s behind it? I want to look young, beautiful, and desirable for-what?… forever…
In more realistic terms many people know they will die one day, but they desperately want to be remembered for who they were and what they did in life - they want their memory to live on forever… A statue, a building, a road, lots of money left for their children - all earthly treasures being chased in the hope that significance and some form of immortality will be gained.
Queen wrote a song for the movie Highlander that was a huge hit in the 80’s - both the movie and the song.
Lyrics:
Who Wants to Live Forever
Queen
There's no time for us
There's no place for us
What is this thing that builds our dreams,
yet slips away from us
Who wants to live forever
Who wants to live forever
Oh ooo oh
There's no chance for us
It's all decided for us
This world has only one sweet moment set aside for us
Who wants to live forever
Who wants to live forever
Ooh
Who dares to love forever
Oh oo woh, when love must die
But touch my tears with your lips
Touch my world with your fingertips
And we can have forever
And we can love forever
Forever is our today
Who wants to live forever
Who wants to live forever
Forever is our today
Who waits forever anyway?
The song focuses more on the author’s belief that love cannot last forever, the trap of immortality, would it have been possible. But it also shows the heart of man - that selfish momentary satisfaction is more important than things that have eternal value
And right here there is the massive difference between the world’s view on eternity and the Biblical view on eternity
We can work as hard as we want to on gathering earthly treasures, but the only ones that have eternal value are what we did for Jesus and the relationships we have on earth. No one on their death bed wishes the had made more money or bought another building - they realize mainly that they should have spent more time with their loved ones.
Because as we’ve seen in our foundations series so far, we have one big decision to make here on earth that affects where and how we spend eternity: so we can also ask it this way: who wants live forever? Who wants to die forever? - puts a bit of a damper on it, doesn’t it? But those are our choices. And choosing to live forever, it not easy, it’s hard, but it’s the way that leads to life. Listen to this scripture:

Listen to this scripture:
Alice Cooper quote: “Drinking beer is easy. Trashing your hotel room is easy. But being a Christian, that's a tough call. That's real rebellion.”
And today we will see from scripture two important things with regards to salvation: that through salvation “heaven is our heritage” and we will live forever with God in heaven, and we will get a deeper understanding of what the power of the blood of Jesus actually is.
Are you ready?? !!
Salvation Scriptures continued:
Salvation was God’s plan from the start, and he broke the power of death and showed us the way to live life to the full - are you afraid of death? Do you feel you’re not fully alive? As a CHILD OF GOD Jesus is your salvation.

Salvation is a free gift, to those who are BORN OF GOD:
This is how you get saved, born of God:
Jesus took the curse that is on man on himself, and he made freedom from the curse available to everyone, through Him all who are saved, are seed of Abraham (through the incorruptible seed, we get access as gentiles to the covenant relationship God has with Abraham)
Salvation is something we all can get that someone else paid for, it’s a gift that was bought at the ultimate price and yes, it is freely available to all who truly repent and step into salvation and die to self.
It’s the ultimate free gift that costs you everything so that you can receive so much more.
It’s the ultimate free gift that costs you everything so that you can receive so much more.
The power of the blood of Jesus - this is a crucial last point - never underestimate the power of the blood of Jesus
Special last verse and my prayer over all of us:
Thank you so much for joining us today.
