Pastor Tim Walker
Pastor Tim Walker

The Laver was the last component to be set in place. It was, in fact, the key to survival in tabernacle life, and it reveals to us the key to survival in living the Christian life.
(Psalm 24:3-4; Matthew 5:8; Hebrews 10:14; 1 Peter 1:13-16; 1 John 1:5-7; 3:2-3; Luke 2:52; Hebrews 2:10-11; 5:8-9; 7:28)
At the Laver, working through the partnership of discipleship, we step out of the shadows of spiritual narcissism toward the true reflection of who we are and into the daily cleansing of life in Christ.
For further study: Exodus 30:17-21; 38:8; 40:1-7; 1 Peter 3:21-22

Look for the verb tense (past, present, future) of salvation.
Look for the verb tense (past, present, future) of salvation.
Which one is it? Were we saved? Will we be saved? Are we being saved? (Hint: The answer is “yes”)
If it’s only about what Christ did (Altar of Burnt Offering), or only about what he will do when he returns (Holy of Holies), why the laver?
Read Romans 6:1-14

Does the physical act of baptism represent a daily reality?
How is the laver a daily discipline?
Who do you know that needs you to walk with them in daily Christian living (discipleship)?
