Legacy - Faith, Character, Health, and Wealth.
o What will you pass on to your family?
§ Acts 13:36 NLT – …after David had done the will of God in his own generation, he died and was buried with his ancestors, and his body decayed.
What did the legacy of faith look like that was passed down to you?
Big Idea: Faith in Jesus is the most important legacy we can pass on!

What needs to be in place to pass on a legacy of faith?
o A Decision to follow the One True God
§ John 14:6 NLT – Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”
§ Hebrews 11:6 NLT – 6 And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
§ Josh 24:14-15 NLT – 14 “So fear the Lord and serve him wholeheartedly. Put away forever the idols your ancestors worshiped when they lived beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord alone. 15 But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.”

o Living out Authentic Faith
§ Faith must be for real!
· Matthew 7:20 NLT – 20 Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions.
§ Practical ways we live out our faith…
· Regularly studying God’s word & spending time in prayer
· Stopping to pray at meals and other random occasions
· Getting together with other followers of Jesus

o Sharing stories of the faithfulness of God
§ Revelation 12:11a NIV – 11 They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony
§ Joshua 4:6-7 NLT – 6 We will use these stones to build a memorial. In the future your children will ask you, ‘What do these stones mean?’ 7 Then you can tell them, ‘They remind us that the Jordan River stopped flowing when the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant went across.’ These stones will stand as a memorial among the people of Israel forever.”
§ Josh 4:24 NLT – 24 He did this so all the nations of the earth might know that the Lord’s hand is powerful, and so you might fear the Lord your God forever.”

Think about the end of your life
o What does your legacy of faith look like right now?
o What do you want your legacy of faith to look like when you get to the end of your journey here on earth?

What would your legacy of faith look like if your time on earth was finished?
Next Steps
o Memorize: Joshua 24:15b – as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.
o Evaluate: Do I actually live out my faith?
o Action: Begin to put your faith in action - in every area of your life.
