So What?!
4 Survival Strategies:
#1. Remember to accept God’s unconditional love!
For though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken. Isaiah 54:10

#2. Realize you can embrace appreciation!
Anxious hearts are very heavy, but a word of encouragement does wonders. Proverbs 12:25
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. Proverbs 31:8

#3. Release all the ridiculous super mom myths!
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Proverbs 31:30

#4. Refocus on the ultimate reward of motherhood!
As he looked up, Jesus saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins."I tell you the truth," he said, "this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on."

Prayer Requests:
Group Discussion: Tell the group about one of your Mom’s positive traits.
Read out loud: Romans 8:35-39
I can’t remember where, but I heard this years ago and I think it’s still true:
#1. Mom’s want
What did your mom do everyday for you?
#2. Mom’s want
If you wrote your mom a thank you note what one idea would be in it?
#3. Mom’s want
What’s 1 thing for which you need to extend forgiveness?
4 Survival Strategies :
#1.
Love from God seems to be a very intangible thing, how do you make it concrete in your thinking?
#2.
Do you have a hard time accepting a compliment? Do you give compliments too often or never enough?
#3.
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord
Myth of Total Parental Involvement, Where do you get too involved in your child’s
life? Are you ever a helicopter parent, just hovering around them?
Myth of Total Parental Enjoyment, Are there things you don’t enjoy about being a
parent?
Myth of Total Parental Responsibility, Do you ever feel like you fail in your
responsibility as a parent?
#4. Refocus on the ultimate reward of motherhood!
Jesus is commending this woman, what character trait do you think He’s commending? Do you have a story of seeing someone sacrifice and it being a good example to you of giving?
Family Time: Use Romans 8:35-39 and talk about how God loves us with hesed, unconditional love, and how it is the example of how we should love each other. Ask each person what they can do this week to show more love to each other.
