Discussion Questions
1. Have you ever experienced someone who overstated their position? Why do you think that was the case? What about you?
2. Read Hebrews 1:1-4. What does this say about the power of Jesus Christ, God’s Son? Then read Luke 2:11-12, what does this say of the humanity and humility of Christ?
3. Jesus was able to be humble because he was confident in where he came from, what he was to do, and where he was going. How can you and I gain the same degree of confidence?
4. Consider the restraint that it must’ve taken for Jesus to limit his power… especially against the forces of evil in the world. How should we practice restraint today? Are there things that you have the power to do that you ought not to do?
5. Pray for one another to practice humility, by gaining confidence in who we are, practicing restraint (discipline) in things we can control, and take the form of a servant in our approach to others.
