Hillside Missionary Church
5/2/21 Worship Gathering
Whether you’re a guest or a long-time attendee we’re glad you’re here with us. We’re a friendly and caring group of Christians who are here to help people be CONNECTED with Jesus, CHANGED by Jesus, and COMMITTED to the mission of Jesus. If you're new with us today, thank for joining us! We truly believe that you’re not here by accident and that God has some amazing plans for your life. If you’d like some information about who we are and how to get plugged in here at Hillside, please fill out the “I’m New” page on our website, hmcworship.com/im-new/

Friday 5:00 PM
1. God is gracious, no matter your background
Luke 7:36-50, Ps. 86:15, 103:8, 116:5, 145:8, Joel 2:13, Ex. 34:6
2.Forgiving others starts with grasping God’s forgiveness towards ourselves
Luke 6:37, 7:47, Matt. 6:12-15, 18:21-22, Mark 11:25, Eph. 4:32
3. We do not earn God’s forgiveness
Luke 7:50, Eph. 1:7, 2:8-9
1. In this story, Jesus portrays what His forgiveness looks like. After taking a look at this story, do you feel like you have a greater understanding of God’s forgiveness? How does that greater understanding change you?
2. Simon the Pharisee saw this woman for what she had done, instead of her current devotion for Christ. Have you ever struggled with holding a grudge or biasness towards someone or a certain group of people? Do you have a grudge or biasness towards someone right now? How does having a greater understanding of God’s forgiveness help you to view that person/people more like God views them?
3. Even though the woman’s faith certainly impacted her actions, Jesus says that it was the woman’s faith, not her actions, that saved her. Have you ever struggled with feeling like you had to earn God’s forgiveness? Do you still struggle with that? If so, how? How did that attitude impact your relationship with God?
