Mark 5:21-30

Mark 5:31-39

Mark 5:40-43

Mark 6:1-6

1a. Did the disciples learn anything new about Jesus in this story?
1b. Did you?
2. Identify the characters in this story. What are their attitudes toward, and expectations of, Jesus?
DISCUSS:
1a. What do you think Jesus’ original intentions were for that day?
1b. Do you think Jairus, and then the bleeding woman, were “interruptions” to His plans/mission, or do you think they WERE the plan for the day?
1c. How does Jesus’s example apply to our life today?
2a. Why do you think Jesus stopped and made the woman come forward (rather than allowing her to just slip away into the crowd - healed, but unnoticed)?
2b. What can we learn from how Jesus valued all people?
3. If you were Jairus, how would you have felt toward the woman? Circle: sympathetic, patient, angry, frustrated, impatient, annoyed
4a. Look again at the various people in the passage. Who had faith, and who didn’t?
4b. What impact did that have?
4c. How does this apply to us today?
5a. In what ways did Jesus display the power of God in this and previous passages?
5b. How does this encourage you?
DO:
• What is ONE THING you would like to do this week in response to this passage?
• In what area of your life is Jesus saying, “Don’t be afraid; Only believe.” (Mk.5:36 CSB)
