DISCUSSION GROUP: CHRISTIAN SEXUALITY

Finally(!) a series that doesn’t shrink back from tough topics and also avoids purity culture clichés. This series addresses the issues you hear about most with grace and truth. It's meant to help you disciple kids in the Creator’s design for sexuality and gender. You will learn more about the heart of God, understand Biblical answers to some of the deepest questions surrounding these topics, and be led into how best to share them with your children. Open to ALL ADULTS! We will meet online (link provided on the RSVP confirmation page) on Sundays 2-3:30p, starting today, and ending on May 30. If you are interested in this group, please RSVP using the link below.

VIRTUAL BABY BOTTLE CAMPAIGN

MAY 10-JUNE 20: For the second year in a row, the Shady Grove Pregnancy Center’s Baby Bottle Campaign is being held virtually! Last year Pathways raised $1300 and this year our goal is $1500. As we continue to find our way back together, the Baby Bottle Campaign gives us a practical way of living out our faith through a compassionate response to an unplanned pregnancy.  The funds that we collect by filling baby bottles with change, cash, and checks help SGPC save the lives of precious babies. Desperate women who otherwise would have aborted the baby can come to the Center and make a life-affirming choice instead, thanks to our support.

PATHWAYS and IBBW 5K FUN RUN/WALK

Saturday, May 29: More than a run! We are making a connection between training for a run and training to grow in our faith. We will focus on commitment: making a plan and putting it into practice. You can choose to participate in person or virtually. Join in the fun, the fellowship, and our first training session today at 3p at Pathways (outdoor). All ages are welcome!

New Sermon Series: Legacy: The View from 30/60
Ed Williams, Senior Pastor
Ps. 145:4 says, “One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.”
6 Key Passages

1. 2 Corinthians 5:9, “Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him.” The most important question anyone will settle in life is the “Who” question.

2. 2 Timothy 2:2, “The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful people who will be able to teach others also.” The next important question is, “What will I DO with my one and only life?”

3. John 15:6, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.” This is the "Why" question.
4. Next is 2 Timothy 4:1-ff regarding the “How,” answering the question, “just what is it I am supposed to do?” Paul wrote: “I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. ...”
5. Galatians 3:28, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” This answers the “With whom?” question.

6. 3 John 1:4, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” This is the “To What End” question; the PURPOSE question.
Acts 16:9 tells us, “And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing and pleading with him, and saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.”
Revelation 3:17, … “you say, "I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing," and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked….”
Praise Song: O COME TO THE ALTAR
