6360 14th Ave, Hudsonville, MI 49426, USA

Sunday 5:30 PM

You are Welcome here!! We are so glad you are joining us for worship.
The Israelite gate- monument found with the only evidence of King David outside Biblical sources.
The High place- Confirms the account in 1 Kings of Jeroboam making a worship area in Tel Dan.
Tel Dan Canaanite gate- Oldest mudbrick city gate in the world. It dates back to about 3,000BC. Genesis 14:11; The four kings seized all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah and all their food; then they went away. They also carried off Abram’s nephew Lot. (14)When Abram heard that his relative had been captured, he called out the 318 trained men born in his household and went in pursuit as far as Dan.
The Jordan River- If we were travelling in ancient times, we would follow the banks of the Jordan river because it takes us straight south, it’s easy to travel on because its flat, and there’s water whenever you need it.
Sodom and Gomorrah
First clue- Genesis 13:10- Lot looked around and saw that the whole plain of the Jordan toward Zoar was well watered, like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt. (This was before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah).
Second clue; Deuteronomy 29:23- The Whole land will be a burning waste of salt and sulfur- nothing planted, nothing sprouted, no vegetation growing on it. It will be like the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.
Possible locations
1. North of the Dead Sea
2. South of the Dead Sea
3. IN where the dead sea is today
4. Around the north and south
Evidence
1. Massive amounts of salt and Sulphur, including the sulfur balls
2. Rock formations are possibilities but not conclusive.
3. Dig site that could be the locations.
4. Possible evidence of six round things in the Dead Sea.

Take aways

2 Peter 2:6-
God condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly;

I believe that the Dead Sea is dead because Sodom and Gomorrah are dead and the salt and Sulphur we see today is the result of God’s judgement.

It occurs to me that maybe God never intended for us to find the actual cities and what do have is enough of an example? Maybe because we can’t agree on where those cities were, keeps us talking about and searching for it, and that keeps that subject as a topic of conversation, and that is exactly what God wants.

I look at what is happening in our culture and wonder how far it will go before we reach the level of Sodom and Gomorrah. And even more concerning is; How long will God put up with it?
You can visit all the graves of all the religious leaders in the world except Jesus Christ, because there is no grave-Charles Swindoll
1. The grave of Mohammed in Medina, Saudi Arabia
2. The grave (or urn of ashes) “The Shrine of the tooth” of Buddha in Sri Lanka
3. The grave of Joseph Smith of Mormonism- Nauvoo Ill
There is no religious leader anywhere who even made the claim that they would be resurrected.

One possible location of Christs tomb: The tomb of the Holy Sepulcher.
The other possible location is Gordon’s Calvary.

They both nave one thing in common. You can look inside both and there’s nothing in there.
The question is: if these are NOT the graves of Christ, then where is it?
They can’t tell you because there is no grave. There’s only a couple of empty sites.
Because of the claims that Christ made, they would love to show you where His grave is but they can’t even come up with a credible fake site.

Here’s my point: If you’re going to commit yourself and eternity to something, who presents the best case? The guys with the grave, or the guy with no grave? Think about that!!!!!

Dave’s Psalm 151:1-2
Put not thy faith in the guys who have a grave,
Put thy faith in the guy who has no grave.
That’s all I got, thus saith Dave
