As a Theanthropic Man Jesus Does Six Things

1. He Reveals God
Colossians 1:15 "He's the image of the invisible God."

4. He's The Mediator Between God and Man

5. He Defeats Satan

6. He Serves as the Last Adam
I Cor. 15:22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.
I Cor. 15:45 “The last Adam became a life-giving Spirit.
III. HIS BIRTH

Romans 5:17 - Because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man."

Matthew 1:20-23 - “‘Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.’ 22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: 23 ‘Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel (which means, God with us).’”

IV. HIS OFFICES
Three Offices Jesus Fulfills
a. The Greatest Prophet
Deuteronomy 34:10-11
Deuteronomy 18:16 - "The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothers—it is to him you shall listen.”
Acts 3:26 - “God, having raised up his servant, sent him to you first, to bless you by turning every one of you from your wickedness.”
Hebrews 1:1 - "Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son.”

b. The High Priest
Hebrews 10:11-12 says, “And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God.”

τετέλεσται. “It is finished”

c. The Everlasting King

V. CHRIST'S DEATH ON THE CROSS
What did Christs Death Accomplish?
1. It Accomplished Substitution

Romans 3:23 "The Wages of Sin is Death...
II Cor. 5:21 “He made Him who knew no sin to become sin on our Behalf (For us) that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

2. It Accomplished Expiation
Expiate==To Extingiuish
What Was Extinguished?==Our Guilt before God
Isaiah 53:6 “He Lord caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him!”

Hebrews 9:26 says “He has been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.”

3. It Accomplished Propitiation
To Appease, to Satisfy
What was Expiated?==God's Wrath on our sin
Romans 3:24-25 "and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins."

Romans 5:9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.

I Thessalonians 1:10 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.
Hebrews 2:17

Revelation 16:1. Then I heard a loud voice from the temple telling the seven angels, “Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God.”

4. It Accomplished Redemption
To "Buy Out"
Three Things we Are Redeemed From

1) The Curse of the Law
Galatians 3:13-14. Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us”
2. The Guilt of our sin
Romans 3:24. We are “justified as a gift by his grace, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus”

3. The Power of Sin
I Peter 1:18-19 “knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your fathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ

5. It Accomplished Reconciliation

If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”

IX. HIS RETURN
Acts 1:10-11 - “And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, and said, ‘Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.’”
Matthew 24:30 - “Then will appear in heaven the sign of the
