2. It Accomplished Expiation
Expiate==To Extingiuish
What Was Extinguished?==Our Guilt before God
Isaiah 53:6 “He Lord caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him!”
Hebrews 9:26 says “He has been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.”
3. It Accomplished Propitiation
To Appease, to Satisfy
What was Expiated?==God's Wrath on our sin
Romans 3:24-25 "and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins."
Romans 5:9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.
I Thessalonians 1:10 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.
Hebrews 2:17
says that Christ made “propitiation for the sins of the people” and
1 John 4:10 says “in this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”
Revelation 6:17 “For the great day of…wrath has come, who can stand?”
Revelation 16:1. Then I heard a loud voice from the temple telling the seven angels, “Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God.”

2. The Guilt of our sin
Romans 3:24. We are “justified as a gift by his grace, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus”
3. The Power of Sin
I Peter 1:18-19 “knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your fathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ
5. It Accomplished Reconciliation
Romans 5:10-11: “For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.”
