2 Chronicles 16:9
"The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him."
Revelation provides a striking bookend for the entire Bible which BEGINS and ENDS in Paradise.
The Church at Ephesus is representative of the apostolic period from 30 AD to 95 AD.
The Church at Smyrna represents the persecuted Church that existed from 95 AD to 312 AD.
Then we have the Church of Pergamum representing the apostate Church that existed from 312 AD to 590AD.
The Church at Thyatira represents the dark pagan period from 590 AD to 1517 AD.
The Church at Sardis represents the dead church between 1517 AD and 1750 AD.

The Church of Laodicea represents the luke-warm church between 1960 and TODAY.
The Church at Philadelphia represents the alive, Spirit-filled Church between 1750 AD and 1960 AD.
Revelation 2:2,
“I know all the things you do. I have seen your hard work and your patient endurance. I know you don’t tolerate evil people. You have examined the claims of those who say they are apostles but are not. You have discovered they are liars."
Revelation 2:9,
"I know about your suffering and your poverty—but you are rich! I know the blasphemy of those opposing you. They say they are Jews, but they are not, because their synagogue belongs to Satan."
Revelation 2:13,
“I know that you live in the city where Satan has his throne, yet you have remained loyal to me. You refused to deny me even when Antipas, my faithful witness, was martyred among you there in Satan’s city."
Revelation 2:19,
"I know all the things you do. I have seen your love, your faith, your service, and your patient endurance. And I can see your constant improvement in all these things."

Revelation 3:1,
"... I know all the things you do, and that you have a reputation for being alive—but you are dead. "
Revelation 3:8,
"I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can close. You have little strength, yet you obeyed my word and did not deny me."
Revelation 3:15,
"I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other!"
My only comfort is knowing - JESUS KNOWS - Knowing this provides the guardrails of faith -- the fear that He knows, and the comfort that He knows.
