First Immanuel Lutheran Ministries
10:35am Sunday - Contemporary Worship -Cedarburg
AS WE GATHER in worship we join two of Jesus’ followers who walk along a road that seems to be filled with sadness. It is early on Easter morning. They mourn the passing of Jesus and explain the tragic weekend events to a stranger who joins them in their walk. Upon noticing that this stranger is actually the risen Savior, their hearts are filled with joy. We who travel with Jesus have joy-filled hearts as well

WORSHIP SONG
Living Hope

How great the chasm that lay between us
How high the mountain I could not climb
In desperation I turned to heaven
And spoke Your name into the night
Then through the darkness Your loving-kindness
Tore through the shadows of my soul
The work is finished the end is written
Jesus Christ my living hope

Hallelujah praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah death has lost its grip on me
You have broken every chain
There’s salvation in Your name
Jesus Christ my living hope

Who could imagine so great a mercy
What heart could fathom such boundless grace
The God of ages stepped down from glory
To wear my sin and bear my shame
The cross has spoken I am forgiven
The King of kings calls me His own
Beautiful Savior I’m Yours forever
Jesus Christ my living hope

Hallelujah praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah death has lost its grip on me
You have broken every chain
There’s salvation in Your name
Jesus Christ my living hope

Then came the morning that sealed the promise
Your buried body began to breathe
Out of the silence the Roaring Lion
Declared the grave has no claim on me
Jesus Yours is the victory whoa

Hallelujah praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah death has lost its grip on me
You have broken every chain
There’s salvation in Your name
Jesus Christ my living hope

Hallelujah praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah death has lost its grip on me
You have broken every chain
There’s salvation in Your name
Jesus Christ my living hope

Jesus Christ my living hope
PSALM OF DAY
Psalm119:105-112
P: Your word is a lamp to my feet
C: and a light to my path.
P: I have sworn an oath and confirmed it,
C: to keep your righteous rules.
P: I am severely afflicted;
C: give me life, O Lord, according to your word!
P: Accept my freewill offerings of praise, O Lord,
C: and teach me your rules.
P: I hold my life in my hand continually,
C: but I do not forget your law.
P: The wicked have laid a snare for me,
C: but I do not stray from your precepts.
P: Your testimonies are my heritage forever,
C: for they are the joy of my heart.
P: I incline my heart to perform your statutes forever,
C: to the end.
P: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit;
C: as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
TIME OF CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS
Lay It All Down
Bring your worry, grief, and pain
Every cause you have for shame
Lay it all down
Lay it all down
When your cares have buried you
And there's nothing left to do
Lay it all down
Lay it all down
At the feet of Jesus

At the feet of Jesus
Carried on but your heart was tired
Feared the worst and felt the fire
Lay it all down
Lay it all down
Filled with all those anxious thoughts
And your doubts became your god
Lay it all down
Lay it all down
At the feet of Jesus
At the feet of Jesus

Lay it all down, lay it all down
Lay it all down, lay it all down
Lay it all down, lay it all down
Lay it all down, lay it all down
Lay it all down, lay it all down
Lay it all down, lay it all down
At the feet of Jesus
At the feet of Jesus

When we've given up on better days
There are memories we can't erase
Lay it all down
Lay it all down
When we've come to fear what we can't explain
And there's nothing here that can ease the pain
Lay it all down
Lay it all down
At the feet of Jesus
At the feet of Jesus

Lay it all down, lay it all down
Lay it all down, lay it all down
Lay it all down, lay it all down
Lay it all down, lay it all down
Lay it all down, lay it all down
Lay it all down, lay it all down
At the feet of Jesus
At the feet of Jesus

Lay it all down, lay it all down
Lay it all down, lay it all down
Lay it all down, lay it all down
Lay it all down, lay it all down

Lay it all down, lay it all down
Lay it all down, lay it all down
At the feet of Jesus (lay it down at the feet)
At the feet of Jesus

Lay it all down, lay it all down
Lay it all down, lay it all down
Lay it all down, lay it all down
Lay it all down, lay it all down
Lay it all down, lay it all down
Lay it all down, lay it all down
At the feet of Jesus
At the feet of Jesus
NICENE CREED
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of His Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, Being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made; who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary And was made man; And was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried; And the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures; And ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father; And He will come again with glory to judge both the living and the dead; whose kingdom will have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Spirit, The Lord and giver of life, Who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, who spoke by the Prophets. And I believe one holy Christian and Apostolic Church, I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins, and I look for the resurrection of the dead; and the life of the world to come. Amen.

PRAYERS

LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

CLOSING SONG
My Redeemer Lives

I know He rescued my soul
His blood has covered my sin
I believe I believe
My shame He's taken away
My pain is healed in His name
I believe I believe
I'll raise a banner
'Cause my Lord has conquered the grave

My Redeemer lives
My Redeemer lives
My Redeemer lives
My Redeemer lives

I know He rescued my soul
His blood has covered my sin
I believe I believe
My shame He's taken away
My pain is healed in His name
I believe I believe
I'll raise a banner
'Cause my Lord has conquered the grave

My Redeemer lives
My Redeemer lives
My Redeemer lives
My Redeemer lives

You lift my burdens
I'll rise with You
I'm dancing on this mountaintop
To see Your kingdom come

My Redeemer lives
