Title: A Request for Rest
Text: Ruth 3:6-18
There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from his own works as God did from his.
Hebrews 4:9-10
Big Idea: If you want rest, ask the redeemer
1. Ruth positions herself to find rest (7-9)
She fulfills Naomi’s instructions (v. 7)
She pursues the kinsman-redeemer (v. 8)
She offers herself in marriage (v. 9)
2. Boaz promised to fulfill Ruth’s request (vv. 10-15)
Ruth is worthy to be redeemed (vv. 10-11a)
Boaz guaranteed her redemption with a down payment (vv. 12-15)
Naomi’s sorrow is reversed because Boaz will finish what he promised (vv. 16-18)
