About the Government of the Kingdom

2. God’s Government is Pluralized
A. Self-Government—This means the controls of one’s attitudes and actions apart from external pressure. This is foundational for leadership and every other form of government.
When people do not gain the ability to govern themselves under God’s authority and strength, they mess up the other institutions God has created to help them be self-governing.
The concept of self-government under God’s authority and strength in our personal lives is the cornerstone to the meaning of freedom.
What is true freedom? It’s the release from illegitimate bondage so we can experience what God created us to be.
B. Family Government—This means that God has given legal rights for parents to love, train up and discipline their children as they’re responsible for them.
C. Church Government—This means that the body of Christ’s purpose is to assist and equip people to live before God with proper self-government.
This means that members of the Church are to honor and submit to their spiritual leaders.
D. Civil Government—This means that the local and national role is to maintain a safe, just and righteous environment for freedom to flourish.
Three Responsibilities Under God
1. Family—This Responsibility Under God means that when a situation is beyond the individual’s abilities to cope, we seek help from the family.
Three Responsibilities Under God
2. Church—This Responsibility Under God is to disciple individuals, marriages & families in such a way that they learn how to progressively bring every area of life under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Four Biblical Experiences the Church Family Shares
A. Worship—Celebrating God for who He is, what He has done and what He promises to do
B. Fellowship—Sharing the life and love of Christ among the members
C. Education—Teaching and training toward a Biblical worldview
D. Outreach—Witnessing to the unsaved in God’s Word and deed
Three Responsibilities Under God
3. National—This Responsibility Under God is not to replace the other divine institutions from God…it’s to support them with things like a safety for law abiding citizens, punishing the lawless and keeping fairness in the marketplace.
