Our mission is simple: we want to proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord. We're growing in three ways: our unity, our purpose and our love. This happens because of the power of the Holy Spirit. God is glorified. Lives are changed. People grow in their relationships with God and with others. We're glad you're here!

Series Overview and Additional Resources

How does the Bible “work”? What is it’s purpose? Where did it come from? How did we get it? Can we trust it? What does it mean for me? Join us as we wrestle with these (and other) questions as we survey the entire Bible together.

Summary:
For many years God’s people had been looking for a Messiah to rescue them from the captivity they were in. Moses had told the children of Israel, “The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your fellow Israelites. You must listen to him” (Deuteronomy 18:15). From that time on, they had been looking for that Prophet. Eventually the prophet Isaiah came announcing the “Good News” that the God of Israel would one day come and confront all corrupt and violent kingdoms and establish His rule over all nations.

This week, we'll be talking about How the Bible Works to Teach Us About Jesus, the Messiah and “The Good News” of how these and many more prophecies were fulfilled. We will hear the testimonies of 4 men, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John and how God used them to proclaim the “Good News” of the Messiah coming into the world. We will discuss the significance of this “Good News” in our lives.

In the message Sunday morning, Joe talked about how the 4 Gospels were written by 4 different people and how each was giving a Testimony about this man called Jesus. Give an example of when there were multiple people telling you about the same event. Did their stories sound exactly the same? What were some of the differences?

1- Read John 1:1-18. In verses 1-5 what are we told about the Word? Who did God send to tell the world about the light mentioned in verse 5?

2- To learn more about this messenger, read Mark 1:2-6, Matthew 3:1-6 and Luke 3:3-6

3- In John 1:14, who does John, the Apostle, say is the Word?

4- List some of the ways that the Apostle John describes Jesus in John 1:1-18

All of the Gospels are testimonies about Jesus the Christ. The Son of the Living God. Spend some time this next month reading each one of the Gospels asking God to speak to you about His son.
