Matthew 5:6

Disciples delight to display Jesus' mercy daily.

“Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.” (Micah 7:18, NIV)
The merciful Lord fills his disciples with mercy.
The merciful 'mercy' the miserable.

“Jesus replied, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a priest was going down that road, and when he saw him he passed by on the other side. So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion. He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him. And the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, ‘Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.’ Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?” He said, “The one who showed him mercy.” And Jesus said to him, “You go, and do likewise.”” (Luke 10:30–37, ESV)
The merciful receive new morning mercies.

“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22–23, ESV)

“Great is your mercy, O LORD; give me life according to your rules.” (Psalm 119:156, ESV)
The merciful await everlasting mercy.

“keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.” (Jude 21, ESV)
What's next?
Never lose the wonder of mercy.
+ Be watchful.
+ Be thankful.
+ Be merciful to the miserable.

Happiness Challenge

Over the next 10 weeks we encourage you to reflect and remember the Beatitudes. Save the image to your phone. Read it several times a day. Find a rhythm that works for you. You'll be drawn to Jesus each day and become more like him.

Give Here

Giving is an act of worship. We acknowledge God as the supreme treasure of our hearts & homes. We give to him as a way of praising and thanking him for his abundant grace toward us. We trust the Father will care for us as he does the rest of creation. It also frees us to live simple lives unhindered from what moth and rust can destroy.
