Monday 6:45 AM
MONDAY: Common Elements
Reading: Psalm 113:1-9
Prayer: As I read what the Jewish people would have read when they ate the bread at Passover, I am reminded that You deserve all of my praise and that You champion the cause of the marginalized. Lord, forgive me for moments when I've been self-absorbed and untouched by the needs around me. Help me to respond in the way You have in the past!

TUESDAY: Common Elements
Reading: Psalm 114:1-8
Prayer: It is at the table, oh Lord, that we reflect upon Your faithfulness and miraculous intervention with Your people at the Jordon River. As I eat bread and drink the cup of the Lord, I am assured that nothing is too difficult for You and even my "impossible" circumstances are not hopeless. I will trust YOU!

WEDNESDAY: Common Elements
Reading: Psalm 115:1-18
Prayer: It is Your name that is to be lifted up. While bread and wine might be common, they remind me of Your love, Your sacrifice, and Your presence! While some may ask, "Where is their God?" I experience Your presence in the common elements of life and through the ongoing work You are doing in me. Thank you, Jesus!

THURSDAY: Common Elements
Reading: Psalm 116:1-19
Prayer: Dear Jesus, I'm so thankful for Your power to save and heal. As I break bread and drink in communion with You, I'm reminded that when I call on You, You hear me, and that the stripes You took upon Your back made provision for healing. My heart is filled with gratitude. Help me to be an instrument of healing to our community.

SATURDAY: Common Elements
Reading: Psalm 118:1-29
Prayer: As I imagine what it was like sitting through a Passover Supper—the imagery that vividly reminds me of You fills my heart with a resonating gratitude. Forgive me when I've tried to rely on myself and even other worldly "assurances" that are fleeting at best. I will trust in You and in You alone will I trust! Help me to model that God-confidence with my family, friends, co-workers, and even those who I may casually encounter. I love You, Jesus!
