Law of Partnership

Law of Partnership

In order to grow healthy marriages and relationships we must actively live out the law of pursuit. We intentionally choose to not let our relationships atrophy as we pursue investing in them and working at them. 2 keys to growing a love that pursues is to pursue listening to learn and serving to honor. Today we unpack more of what that practically looks like.

Genesis 2:18 & 24 is our KEY PASSAGES for this series...
We've been created to not only NEED God, but to need others.

The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” -Genesis 2:18

This series is geared at marriages, but these 3 simple laws of love have implications to deepening the love we can experience in any and all of our relationships!
Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. -Genesis 2:24
3rd Law of Love is: LAW OF PARTNERSHIP

The Law of Partnership is about switching from ME to a WE mindset and approach to that relationship (whether it’s in marriage or in friendship)
see one another as PARTNERS - not competitors.

3 keys to how to foster partnership in healthy relationships...

-Believe WE are "better together"
-Champion One Another (emotionally)
-Mutual Submission to One Another and Christ

Better Together

Ecc. 4:9-12
9 Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
10 If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.
11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

Having God as a significant partner in your marriage and within your friendship brings a transcendent strength to your relationship — that’s the principle Solomon is highlighting as we navigate life in relationships — knowing WE’RE BETTER TOGETHER!
Champion Each Other (emotionally)

Empathy is the relational glue we all need in healthy relationships.

One of the key Scriptures I see in the Bible, that if practiced, will FOSTER EMPATHY and grow compassion…thatwill impact every relationship, friendship and marriage == if we truly live this out.

Romans 12:15
“Rejoice with those who rejoice, mourn with those who mourn.”

Mutual Submission

I need you; You need me - we both need Jesus and to follow His lead most!

Ephesians 5:21
Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Mutual Submission is a mutual honoring of the other. Dominating over the other is never to be the mark of a relationship sealed by Christ.
