Sunday 9:30 AM

The “church” has not communicated well on the topic of sex. Leaving people to think it’s not godly or that the it’s taboo. The devil didn’t create sex. He actually can’t create anything.

God created sex. The devil perverts it.

Sex isn’t a god to be worshiped, it isn’t gross to be avoided, it’s a gift to be enjoyed in marriage. - Mark Driscoll

Song of Songs 4:1-4

God’s Way is Affirming

Your words are incredibly important when it comes to physical intimacy. Don’t expect her to be ready when you are if you haven’t been watering...of you haven’t been affirming.

Women are crock-pots men are microwaves - Men need seconds - women need hours.

God honoring sex starts before the bedroom

Song of Songs 4:5

Your wife is not prey to be captured, but a woman to be loved.

God’s Way is Tender

Women desire tenderness...men desire responsiveness

Song of Songs 4:6

God’s Way is Passionate

Godly sex isn’t boring…it is passionate. The enemy’s plan is to make you think God’s way is boring. It’s anything but! God gives life and life abundantly.

Passion takes effort. If you want a great intimacy in marriage you have to do the work.

Song of Songs 4:7

Everyone has flaws, and the enemy wants you to pursue perfect elsewhere…begin to see your spouse as perfect. Speak it to them.

God’s Way Provides Security

Never make a negative comment about your spouse’s body. You are each other’s only legitimate way to find sexual fulfillment!

Song of Songs 4:9-11

Song of Songs 4:12

God’s Way is Holy

Genesis Covenant—Man leaves father & mother united to wife—one flesh. - Jesus references in NT - Marriage is something God created as a covenant union…one flesh.

Outward sign of the inward covenant of the two becoming one. It was meant for marriage and not before marriage

Holy isn’t perfect…it’s forgiven.

This is the beauty of what God did for us when he sent Jesus - To forgive us, to set us apart to make us clean, whole, pure…where our past is not held against us.

Our past becomes a part of a redemptive story of what God can do in us when we allow his word to transform us. - The Holy Spirit helps us to live a life of Holiness going forward.

Song of Songs 4:15-16

We have kept foxes out—now vineyards are blooming! We are enjoying the fruit of a garden that has been protected…the time is now ripe and its beautiful.

God’s way is simply better. Not just right, but better.

Don’t hear this message and feel shame and feeling down, I want you to feel hope. God can, will & wants to restore and heal you in areas that have been marred by sin.

Isaiah 1 says though your sins be like scarlet, I will make them white as snow.
