Three ways we can know that we are Created for Connection
1. Scripture
2. Common Sense
3. Science
Scripture:
Koinonia is the closest word for connection in scripture - the idea we were made for community, for a relationship, to share your life with others, and have others participate in your life.
Common Sense:
It’s easily observable.
Science:
Affirms what Scripture tells us about connection.
Not everybody is called to foster or adopt but everyone is called to care.
There are 400,000 kids in foster care in the US. There are 100,000 available for adoption.
In Virginia alone, there are 5,300 children in foster care, 700 available for adoption.
SWVA has 850 kids in foster care 400 of them have a goal of reunification with a healthy, stable birth family. 300 of them are available for adoption.
Are you connected to the things God says are important or the things the world says are important?
“Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress…”
