Have you ever felt disappointment because someone let you down?

Have you ever been disappointed at God? What were the circumstances?

Key Thought: When you expect something or someone to SOLVE all your problems, you are setting yourself up for disappointment.

Luke 15:11-31

How does disappointment impact each character of this story?

Look closer at 15:29-30 and see how the older son BLAMES his father for his own personal disappointment. Can you identify?

Moving out of BLAME toward HOPE:
1. Accept the situation ...

2. Determine what you can control ...

3. Make Adjustments ...

* Am I allowing God to work in my disappointment, or am I trying to take care of it on my own?
* Have you allowed disappointment in someone else to create distance and division - instead of allowing the HOPE found in Christ to build a bridge of MERCY and GRACE?
