Come Find Your Mercy | Shutting Down Shame
Shame, one of the greatest enemies of the Gospel good news, tells us we're forgiven but still not worthy. Yet Jesus came that we might have life and have it to the full. Join us as we learn to trade the dark cloud of shame for living in the light of God's mercy.

Mission Hills is a church family—a family who wants to extend to you the same love, hope, and joy that we have received. We know that we cannot be all things to all people. But we do want to be one thing to all people. We want to be the place where anyone, of any age, of any level of spiritual maturity, of any economic class, of any ethnicity, of any church background—or no church background—can meet God in a way that transforms their life…forever!

If you are a first time guest, we would love to meet you! Stop by the Welcome Center for a free gift.
“The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy…" John 10:10a
Grace = God’s immeasurable mercy (Forgives sin)
Truth = God’s immeasurable holiness (Can't stand sin)
Grace is getting something you don’t deserve.
Mercy is not getting what you do deserve.
Grace without truth ceases to be grace.
Truth without grace crushes people.
Jesus isn’t always interested in us getting the answers we want, but he is always interested in us pursuing him so we grow closer to him in heart.
“Neither do I condemn you.” (Grace)
“Go and sin no more.” (Truth)
We must understand the depth of our sin to understand the magnitude of God’s mercy.
The Father didn’t send us a condemner, He sent us a Savior.
Mercy has a name, and His name is Jesus.
Religion often looks for technicalities to extend judgement.
Jesus looks for opportunities to extend mercy.
When shame screams, reminding you of what you’ve done, the God who stoops kneels down and whispers, reminding you of who you are.
"But……my story… my mistakes."
Jesus is a better forgiver than you are sinner.
His standard for who deserves MERCY is LOW.
The accuser makes a living out of accusing, yet the Savior makes a career out of saving.
"You have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” (1 John 2:1)
Sin is always ugly.
Shame is always loud.
Jesus is always greater than both.
“And I will restore to you the years that the locust have eaten.” Joel 2:25
