About FM First Baptist
Flower Mound First Baptist has been making much of Jesus in the Timber Creek area for over 30 years. Every week we gather to magnify Christ in word & deed, mature as Christ-followers, and multiply and make disciples for Christ. Our garden is a living parable of the Good Gardener's work in and through us.
SONG LYRIC - Higher Ground
I'm pressing on the upward way
New heights I'm gaining ev'ry day
Still praying as I'm onward bound
Lord plant my feet on higher ground
Lord lift me up and let me stand
By faith on heaven's tableland
A higher plane than I have found
Lord plant my feet on higher ground
My heart has no desire to stay
Where doubts arise and fears dismay
Tho' some may dwell where these abound
My pray'r my aim is higher ground
I want to live above the world
Tho' Satan's darts at me are hurled
For faith has caught the joyful sound
The song of saints on higher ground
I want to scale the utmost height
And catch a gleam of glory bright
But still I'll pray till heav'n I've found
Lord lead me on to higher ground

SONG LYRIC - He Will Hold Me Fast
When I fear my faith will fail
Christ will hold me fast
When the tempter would prevail
He will hold me fast
I could never keep my hold
Through life's fearful path
For my love is often cold
He must hold me fast
He will hold me fast
He will hold me fast
For my Savior loves me so
He will hold me fast
Those He saves are His delight
Christ will hold me fast
Precious in His holy sight
He will hold me fast
He'll not let my soul be lost
His Promises shall last
Bought by Him at such a cost
He will hold me fast
For my life He bled and died
Christ will hold me fast
Justice has been satisfied
He will hold me fast
Raised with Him to endless life
He will hold me fast
Till our faith is turned to sight
When He comes at last

The symbol of religion is a ladder; the cross is for Christianity.
The Prayer of the Pharisee
- He's focused on man not God.
- Sin is external & separate from him.
- He's not even talking to God really.
- He's focused on man not God.
- Sin is external & separate from him.
- He's not even talking to God really.
The Prayer of the Publican
- Three Never Failing (Daily) Prayers
1. 'God, be merciful...'
2. 'Nevertheless not what I will...'
3. 'God, I thank you...'
- What is he really asking for?
- 'Lord, I need atonement.'
Fred Lowery, 'His grace reaches lower than our worst mistakes.'

1 – Comparison leads to contempt so renounce self-righteousness.
2 – The cross leads to confession so rely on his grace.

Song Lyric - Just As I Am (Come Broken)
Just as I am without one plea
But that Thy blood was shed for me
And that Thou bidst me come to Thee
O Lamb of God I come I come
Just as I am and waiting not
To rid my soul of one dark blot
To Thee whose blood can cleanse each spot
O Lamb of God I come I come
I come broken to be mended
I come wounded to be healed
I come desperate to be rescued
I come empty to be filled
I come guilty to be pardoned
By the blood of Christ the Lamb
And I'm welcomed with open arms praise God
Just as I am
Just as I am I would be lost
But mercy and grace my freedom bought
And now to glory in Your cross
O Lamb of God I come I come

Giving is an act of worship. We acknowledge God as the supreme treasure of our hearts & homes. We give to him as a way of praising and thanking him for his abundant grace toward us. We trust the Father will care for us as he does the rest of creation. It also frees us to live simple lives unhindered from what moth and rust can destroy.
