Mission Hills Church
Come Find Your Mercy
Shame, one of the greatest enemies of the Gospel good news, tells us we're forgiven but still not worthy. Yet Jesus came that we might have life and have it to the full. Join us as we learn to trade the dark cloud of shame for living in the light of God's mercy.

Mission Hills is a church family—a family who wants to extend to you the same love, hope, and joy that we have received. We know that we cannot be all things to all people. But we do want to be one thing to all people. We want to be the place where anyone, of any age, of any level of spiritual maturity, of any economic class, of any ethnicity, of any church background—or no church background—can meet God in a way that transforms their life…forever!

If you are a first time guest, we would love to meet you! Stop by the Welcome Center for a free gift.
Shame is the persistent feeling that our mistakes make us unworthy of love and belonging.
Guilt tells us we need forgiveness.
Shame tells us we’ll never get it.
Shame shades us from the light of God’s love.
1. Jesus was claiming to be God.
2. Jesus forgave the man before he'd done anything to deserve it.
Shame says you can’t be forgiven until you’ve done enough to deserve it.
Jesus hates things that drive people away from God rather than drawing them to Him.
Who do I have a hard time thinking deserves forgiveness for their sin?
Is it possible that Jesus is more bothered by my judgmental thoughts than their sin?
The only thing more astonishing that Jesus’ authority to forgive was his willingness to forgive.
Shame says you need a Savior but your Savior can’t stand you. Jesus says you need a Savior…and here I am because I love you
Mercy is kindness that withholds the bad consequences of bad behavior.
Make sacrifices for the sake of mercy, but never sacrifice mercy.
1. Where in my life do I most need to extend mercy to someone?
2. Where in my life do I most need to experience God’s mercy for myself?
