In this passage of God’s Word we see Jesus teaching again. This time though he asks Peter to do several things. Even though Peter had every reason to not entertain Jesus’ requests, at His word, Peter did what Jesus asked of Him, and because of it, went on to live a greater life than he would have otherwise. By taking a look at this story, we too can learn how to live the amazing life that God has for us.
1. Don’t miss out because you’re weary
Luke 5:5, 2 Thess. 3:13, Gal. 6:9
2. Take God at His Word
Luke 5:5, Heb. 11:1, 2 Tim. 3:16
3. Be willing to abandoned everything
Luke 5:11, 9:23, 14:33, Mark 10:21

Reflection Questions
1. After taking a look at Jesus’ story here in chapter 5 of the Gospel of Luke, what stands out to you the most? Have you ever studied or heard this story taught on before? If you’re familiar with the story, did you notice anything that you haven’t noticed before?
2. Peter probably thought that pushing his boat out for Jesus was a pretty insignificant gesture. However, that one act of obedience caused him to act obediently again and again, which eventually led to his life looking extremely different. Can you look back in your life and point to a situation where you obeyed God and it led to your life looking completely different than it would have if you didn’t obey God in that moment? Can you also look back to see a situation where you weren’t obedient, and it caused you to miss out on what God had planned for you?
3. As we talked about handing over everything that we have to God, did the Lord bring to your mind anything specifically that you can better give to Him? Do you feel like God has asked you to give up that before? If so, what stopped you from giving it God?
4. Paint a picture in your mind of what your life would look like if you truly handed over everything to God just like Peter did? What would look differently? Would you be less angry, self-centered, anxious, ect.?
5. What practical step(s) can you take better hand over everything that you have to God? Who can keep you accountable to that?

In-Person Service Update
Thank you for your continual faithfulness and flexibility during these times. We especially appreciate those 8+ years old wearing their mask when not seated 6+ feet away from those outside of their household. Please remember, no offering plates will be passed; instead we ask you to give online or via the giving box near the gym entrance. Tables are set up in the back row of the gym for families with young children. We also kindly ask you to use the restroom before you come to ensure that our restrooms are as clean as possible for those who need to use them.
Women's Bible Study
