Expand“Our Walk: Denying Self; Surrendering to God”
“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.” ― Jesus (Mark 8:34)
1. Surrendering Ourselves to God (rather than to sin)
“Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same way of thinking, for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, so as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human passions but for the will of God.” ― 1 Peter 4:1-2
2. Surrendering Our Will to God (to follow His will)
“and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.” ― 2 Corinthians 5:15
3. Surrendering Our Possessions to God (for God’s use)
“they gave themselves first to the Lord and then by the will of God to us.” ― 2 Corinthians 8:5
4. Surrendering Our Rights to God (for our brethren)
“with toil and labor we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you. It was not because we do not have that right, but to give you in ourselves an example to imitate.” ― 2 Thessalonians 3:8b-9
