Have you ever had something ... right before your eyes ... and missed seeing it? Psalm 19 can be just like that. And after seeing what has been before your eyes you say to yourself, "How could I be so blind?"
One commentator said of Psalm 19, “No poem ever contained a finer argument against atheism, nor one better expressed.”
#1. Creation has a way of speaking.
The heavens scream out, "Someone made us."
One man said, “So stupendous and glorious is the blazing universe above and around us that one of our poets has said, ‘An undevout astronomer is mad.’”
"Open up your eyes man and listen. Hear what creation is shouting, 'There is a GOD!'"
Matthew Henry … “There are two excellent books which the great GOD has published for the instruction and edification of the children of men, this Psalm treats of them both, and recommends them both to our diligent study. 1. The book of the creatures, in which we may easily read the power and Godhead of the Creator. 2. The book of the Scriptures, which makes known to us the will of GOD concerning our duty.”
One commentator by the name of Plumer shares his thoughts this way, “No good man counts any commandment of GOD grievous, even though it enjoins new and difficult duties, or forbids customary sins. Of course, all other parts of revealed truth make glad the saints of GOD. He who loves the precepts will love the promises and the doctrines.”
The purpose of a witness is to share an experienced truth.
