Transplant | Week 2

Transplant | Week 2

The key misunderstanding about how lives change is that we think it's about our SELF-REFORMATION. We rehabilitate our lives when we realize our sin. This is NOT the biblical picture. We cannot reform ourselves, become loving, or build community on our own. We need regeneration--we need a transplant to save us.

The HEART can’t function without the MIND, and the MIND can’t function without the HEART.

Matthew 22:36-40

We are to love God with all that we are—mind, will, body, and spirit.

Romans 12:2

Mostly, our behavior is governed by habit. Most of the time, a change of behavior requires the acquisition of new habits. Willpower and conscious decision have very little power over what we do.”

JOHN ORTBERG
“Brain Science & the Renewal of the Mind,”
Leadership Journal, Spring 2014
HOW DO WE START AND STICK WITH IT?

1.We decide those habits matter!
2.We get the right tools.
3.We note & celebrate progress/success.
Sow a thought and you reap an action; sow an act and you reap a habit; sow a habit and you reap a character; sow a character and you reap a destiny.”

RALPH WALDO EMERSON
