It seems like every January, we make decisions and set goals about who we want to be. We call them new years resolutions. Goals like losing weight, saving money, exercising, and reading more. Even though these are good, positive and healthy goals, they are focused on ourselves, they are inherently self-centered. Yet, Jesus did not call us to a self-centered faith. God has a greater purpose for us when we learn to reject our own comfort to help others. It’s definitely not easy, it’s not always comfortable, but God always has more for us and others when we do.

Service – We are spiritual contributors not spiritual consumers. The church does not exist for us. We are the church and we exist for the world. Jesus saves, we serve.
