WORD POWER: Harvest (therismos) the act of reaping, figuratively, of the gathering of men into the kingdom of God“
INTRO: 3 Signs that the Harvest is Ready
" Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more." Romans 5:20
1. The Spirit of Rejection
Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.6 And he will turnThe hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.” Malachi 4:5-6
2. The Spirit of Destruction
"And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come." Matthew 24:12-15
3. The Spirit of Confusion!
"For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there." James 3:16
ANALYSIS/APPLICATION: Moving Forward in Evangelism
Evangelism is a by-product of our Commitment to Lead.
"And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen." Matthew 28:18-20
2. Evangelism is a by-product of our Compassion for the lost
"Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous" 1 Peter 3:8
3. Evangelism is a by-product of our Communion with the Lord.
"Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 Therefore pray the Lord of theharvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Vs 37-38
"How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace,Who bring glad tidings of good things!” Romans 10:14-15
