Holiness through Brokenness
Message 3

When my Behavior Comes Up Broken
I John 1:5-2:11
My Behavior is Broken When It:

- Breaks God's Commands
- Breaks my Relationships
- Breaks the Validity of my Witness
- Breaks my Opportunity to Glorify God
God is Light = God is Holy

- The light that excludes darkness of sin
- The lie of a sinning Christian
- The fellowship and purity of obedience
When My Fellowship with God is Broken I Must:

- Abandon the Lie of Denial
- Respond with Honest Confession
- Receive Complete Restoration
- Anticipate Full Obedience
- Live in the Security Grace
Broken Behavior Becomes Deadly When I:

- Deny my brokenness: "I didn't do it."
- Minimize my brokenness: "It is not that bad."
- Excuse my brokenness: "I didn't mean to."
- Accept my brokenness: "I'm only human."
I Am Becoming Holy When I:

- Admit the truth: "I am very guilty."
- Repent of sin: "I am truly sorry."
- Cry for forgiveness: "I depend on God's mercy."
- Submit to cleansing: "I desire genuine change."
I Am Living in Holiness When I:

- Give myself totally to God's grace: Humility
- Depend constantly on God's grace: Empowerment
- Turn quickly to God's grace: Honesty
- Commit to embodying God's grace: Love
GOOD NEWS:

My holiness always depends on God's grace, not my ability to perform.
